Ecuador Beach Experience

Ecuador’s coastline is everything you need if you like nice weather and beautiful beaches. In these 5 days we will visit the Machalilla Nationalpark, which is surrounded by beautiful beaches, hike and snorkle on and around Isla de la Plata, which is an island where the fauna is much like that of the Galápagos islands and surf the perfect waves of the pacific ocean. We are also going to visit the marvellous protected beach Los Frailes, where we’ll just relax and enjoy the weather and beautiful surroundings.
Day 1 Puerto Lopez/Isla De La Plata
Puerto Lopez is a big beach-town in Ecuador located in the Manabí province. We will go on a boat-ride for about 2 hours until we reach the island ”Isla de la Plata” (Silver Island). This island is known as being a small Galápagos in Ecuador as the flora and fauna in this island is very similar to that of The Galápagos islands. You will fx find Blue-footed Boobies, Fregat birds and sealions. It is possible to do snorkeling, diving and sport-fishing around the island, or simply to hike around the island. We will hike around the island and enjoy the beautiful nature. On the way back to Puerto Lopez, we will make a stop to snorkle and admire the stunning marine-life. It is possible to do scuba-diving, if you have experience. In the months June-September it is possible to see Humpback Whales in the ocean around the island.

Day 2 Puerto Lopez/Agua Blanca
Today we are going to visit a local community named Agua Blanca, located just 15 minutes by car from Puerto Lopez. Here we will visit an archeological Museum that dates all the way back to pre-inca time. Afterwards we will hike towards a tropical dry forest where it is possible to find sulphur pools, where you can swim and get a natural facemask from the mud on the bottom of the pools.

Day 3 Puerto Lopez/Los Frailes
Today we will visit the marvellous beach ”Los Frailes”, located just 15 minutes north of Puerto Lopez. The beach is a protected area and is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador. The sand is white and the weather is very nice. You can hike around the area and walk on cliffs or simply relax on the beach. Later in the afternoon we will return to Puerto Lopez.

Day 4 Puerto Lopez/Surf
Today we are going to take surf-lessons. We will be practising for about 2 hours with surf-instructors at one of the nearby beaches.
